About Soul Bilíngue and the Mentoring Program:

Soul Bilíngue is committed to bridging the opportunity gap for
young Brazilians by providing access to vital English language
skills. We believe that proficiency in
English can open doors to
education, employment, and personal growth. Our mentoring
program pairs volunteer mentors with students, creating a
supportive environment where they can practice conversational
English and gain confidence.

The impact of our program is far-reaching. Mentors not only help
students improve their language skills but also serve as role
models and inspire them to pursue their goals. By sharing your
own experiences with English, whether through academic study,
travel, or professional development, you can make a significant
difference in the lives of these young adults

About the English Mentor Role:

We are looking for individuals Who are passionate about helping
others and eager to share their English language skills.
No prior
teaching experience is required!
You will provide one-on-one
online mentoring sessions, helping students practice their
conversational English and build confidence.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead THREE individual mentoring sessions every 4-week cycle

  • Engage in conversational English practice with your assigned
    student.

  • Share your experiences and insights related to learning and
    using English.

  • Provide motivation and encouragement to your mentee.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Must have at least a B2 (Upper Intermediate) English level

  • Must be available for three 40-minute mentoring sessions every 4 weeks for 4 months (12 total sessions)

  • Must use English regularly.

1. What does it mean to be a volunteer?

Being a volunteer means donating your time and skills to a cause that inspires you. At Soul Bilíngue, by choosing to be a mentor, you share your experiences and English knowledge, expanding opportunities for our young people and becoming a role model for them.

2. What is the difference between a Mentor and a Teacher?

Mentor: If you have a B2 level or higher in English and are over 18, you can become a mentor! You'll connect with a student individually to practice conversation, boosting their confidence and fluency. It's a flexible commitment of at least three 40-minute sessions every 4 weeks, scheduled directly with your student. No prior teaching experience is required—just a friendly attitude, commitment, and the desire to share your English!

Teacher: If you're passionate about teaching and have experience, become a volunteer English teacher! Our English teachers are experienced and hold proficiency certificates. You will lead 90-minute online group classes on Saturdays from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm (Brasília time). Don't worry, you'll have teaching materials, training, and support to guide you!

3. Can I volunteer from anywhere in the world?

Yes! Our mentoring and teaching programs are entirely online, making it possible for volunteers from anywhere to connect with our students.
